Introduction

From 2026, EPR fees will be modulated based on recyclability to encourage lower‑impact packaging. To enable this, household - including commonly publicly binned - packaging supplied from 1 January 2025 must be assessed using the Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM). Each packaging component receives a Red, Amber or Green rating, which large producers must report with their EPR data, with Red attracting the highest fee.
