Stepping up for the planet in 50km charity challenge

The Ecosurety team are taking on a hiking expedition to tackle the global waste crisis in support of WasteAid.
26 of our people are taking on a tough 50km hiking challenge on 12–13 June 2025, all in support of the global waste charity WasteAid.
Driven by our mission to rid the world of unnecessary packaging, the team will be tackling diverse terrain as part of their annual walking challenge, following the success of last year’s Welsh 3000s hike. This year’s challenge will push participants to their limits - covering 50km in just two days - all to raise vital funds for WasteAid’s work in tackling the global waste crisis.
Tackling the global waste crisis

The stakes couldn’t be higher. 1 in 3 people globally lack access to basic waste services. Each year approximately 9 million people die of diseases linked to mismanagement of waste and pollutants, 20 times more than die from malaria.
WasteAid tackles this by supporting inclusive circular economies in some of the world’s most underserved regions - helping communities to create jobs, improve public health, and reduce pollution.
Will Ghali, Ecosurety CEO commented:
“Our team is passionate about creating positive environmental and social impact, and this challenge brings our commitment to life. Partnering with WasteAid allows us to directly support communities working at the front lines of the waste crisis, and we’re proud to play our part in advancing a more sustainable future for all.”
