UK Packaging Pact launches to drive the next phase of circular packaging in the UK

The UK Packaging Pact has officially launched today on Wednesday 22 April, marking a new chapter for circular packaging in the UK.
Designed to help transform packaging systems to work better for both people and planet, the Pact brings together businesses, government, trade bodies and NGOs to accelerate progress across the entire packaging system.
We are proud to be a signatory to the UK Packaging Pact, supporting its ambition to deliver system-wide change and build a more circular future for packaging in the UK.
Building on the success of the UK Plastics Pact, the new UK Packaging Pact expands its scope beyond plastics to cover all packaging materials. By addressing the full range of materials used across the packaging value chain, the Pact aims to unlock opportunities for meaningful, coordinated action.
The Pact unites organisations from across the packaging system around a shared vision and set of goals. Supported by PackUK and the UK Government, it reflects growing recognition that collaboration across industry, policymakers and civil society is crucial to delivering circular outcomes at scale.
For us, becoming a signatory aligns closely with our mission to rid the world of unnecessary packaging. By working alongside Pact members and partners, we will support the development of solutions that improve packaging design, resource efficiency and end-of-life outcomes across all materials.
“The UK Packaging Pact aligns closely with our goals as an organisation. Its focus on harmonising data and improving transparency really resonated with us, because robust, transparent data is essential to making informed decisions about switching between packaging formats. Additionally, scaling reuse and refill is a core pillar of our strategy, so seeing this prioritised within the Pact made it clear that Ecosurety needed to be involved.”

We’re looking forward to contributing to the Pact’s work and collaborating with signatories to help deliver the shared ambition of a truly circular packaging system in the UK.
