Circularety one month on - preparing for launch!

It has been one month since we launched Circularety to the industry, an exciting shake-up of the PRN market.

The time has absolutely flown by here at Ecosurety HQ and whilst autumn may be in full swing, Circularety is really starting to blossom. The PRN market has historically lacked both transparency and choice for producers, but we plan to change that with our new online platform - find out more in our video below:

“I can’t believe this hasn’t been done already!”

Word of Circularety has certainly been getting around over the past month and many obligated producers have now signed up to the beta testing website to help us ensure the platform is running smoothly, ready for the beginning of 2017 when it goes live with real projects.

Feedback has been extremely positive, including comments such as “I can’t believe this hasn’t been done already!”, “Anything that introduces transparency has to be a good thing” and “We have to pay for PRNs anyway, why wouldn’t we want to use Circularety to choose where our money goes?”

Producers that sign up now to the beta website will be the first to see the real projects to invest in when the site goes fully live in January. In this beta stage we are in the process of making the online platform as good as it can possibly be following user feedback, and any comments from producers are highly valuable.

Projects that will improve recycling in the UK

Whilst we have had a great deal of interest from producers, Circularety simply wouldn’t work without reprocessors posting the projects that can be invested in! Needless to say we have been getting out there to demonstrate Circularety to reprocessors and support them to develop projects as they pledge PRNs to Circularety for next year.

The great news for reprocessors is that the PRNs invested in their projects through Circularety ensure that they can budget easily and complete projects that actually improve recycling in the UK – which is what the PRN system was designed for in the first place. Knowing that the producers who invest in their projects are eager to publicise their involvement has proven to be an attraction too.

edie award-nominated

Whilst we've been busy working with producers and reprocessors, we were thrilled to announce that Circularety has been nominated for an edie award. In January 2017 Circularety will be contending in the Sustainability Product Innovation Award category. It is fantastic to be recognised at this early stage and it goes a long way to illustrate the potential that Circularety can realise - read more about our nomination here.

We are busy putting the finishing touches to a video that captures some of the atmosphere on the Circularety launch night, including reactions from industry. We will be releasing soon – watch this space!
